Talks, Lectures, Seminars:

Dr. Hubicki is a nationally renowned speaker on the subject of robotics, receiving a Gilbreth Lectureship from the National Academy of Engineering in 2020. All talks are filled with video, stories, lessons, fun, and laughs. I speak to all audiences, including grade school, college, grad school, professional organizations, to anyone who wants to learn (and have fun in the process!). If your university, school, or organization is interested in booking a talk, contact me at the email above (chubicki [AT] fsu [DOT] edu).

Topics include:

  • “Robotics, Survivor, and a Journey about Control”

    • Christian blends his unique experience as a robotics researcher and his adventure on the popular reality TV series, Survivor. Dreamed up while marooned in Fiji, this talk is filled lessons about the cutting edge of robotics and how they apply to everything - even being stranded on a deserted island in a million-dollar game.

  • “The Science of Walking Robots”

    • A seminar touring of the wondrous science and engineering behind those amazing machines that walk and run - including Dr. Hubicki’s own work in the field. Great for universities and professional organizations

  • “How Robots Work”

    • A great talk for grade schoolers. Dr. Hubicki shows how the math, science, and people skills you learn in school are what power the robots of the future.

  • … and seminars on technical topics including robotics, control, and biomechanics.

Joining My Lab:

I am frequently looking for motivated and talented students to join my robotics research laboratory at Florida A&M University / Florida State University.  Specifically, I am looking for:

  • Graduate Students with a focus in a Robotics-Related Field (Engineering, Mathematics, Computation, or Basic Sciences)

  • Undergraduate Students with an interest in Robotics, Engineering, Math, Computer Science, or Basic Sciences

  • Exceptional High School Students who can Commute to the Tallahassee Area.

If you are interested in working hard on very challenging robotics research, please send to the email above:

  • A resume detailing your relevant experience.

  • A brief description of self-initiated projects you have done.

    • Motivation to initiate and complete projects is a critical skill in a research lab. That's what I'm looking for in a fantastic laboratory member. So I want to know what you love to do! Did you join a research lab as a college student because you thought it was interesting? Did you build a robot for a class? Did you code something cool just for fun at home? Do you build furniture, refurbish cars, or just love getting your hands dirty? If so, include a picture, a video (via YouTube link), and/or a very brief description of your projects (about two sentences each).
